In this 12-class session, kids will learn to design and sew their own bags! Projects will include a variety of pouches and bags, while introducing key skills like sewing zippers, making straps, installing snaps, and working with materials such as cotton and vinyl.
Beginners will get a full introduction to the sewing machine including threading, sewing straight seams, turning corners, and backstitching. More experienced students will explore new techniques to build on what they know.
Each child will be assigned their own sewing station with a computerized Brother machine. All materials are provided. Kids will leave the series with a batch of one-of-a-kind projects and the skills and confidence to continue sewing bags and accessories at home.
