  • In this week kids will kick off Summer! They will make a zipper pouch “Wet Bag" and a roomy personalized summer tote. Kids will have the option of adding their initials, or maybe their name, or the  words “pool” or “beach” etc  to their tote using heat transfer letters and/or patches.

  • In this week kids will make Squishmallow style stuffies! Yes- We’ll have the signature super soft material and extra squishable filling.

  • It’s an American Girl Doll Week! In this week kids will sew clothes and accessories for their American Girl Dolls! Kids are encouraged to bring their dolls to camp.

  • In this week the kids will make pajama shorts , pillows, and scrunchies! If kids also attended the American Girl Doll week they may decide to make coordinating PJ shorts and pillow as their doll (from the previous week)

  • In this week we will Upcycle!! Kids will cut up to reclaim and use the material from t-shirts, jeans, bedsheets, etc. Kids will use a mix of the reclaimed material and new material to design and make pouches and bags! Kids can bring in their own items and we will have plenty too!

  • In this week kids will make skirts and coordinating accessories! This is always a favorite week- even for kids that have made skirts before!

  • In this week kids will make a cross body bag and Confetti Shaker Pouches. To design their confetti shaker pouches kids will sew clear vinyl and fabric together to make a see through pocket to fill with confetti and glitter before sewing their pouch closed (don’t worry the glitter is fully enclosed)

  • In this week kids will make pencil sized zip pouches and personalized snack pouches to get ready for school! They will also make a mini clip on pouch for their backpack. To personalize their snack pouches kids will have the option of adding their initials or name using heat transfer letters or patches.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Camp is a mix of structured sewing and free time. Kids sew on their planned projects in groups of 4-6 kids. When not sewing kids can work on independent art and crafts or play. We have a large assortment of art and craft materials available for free use. Each day also includes sprinkler time in the backyard and optional group games.

  • No experience is needed just an interest in learning to sew. Everyone sews on the sewing machine from their first day of camp. Kids get the level of personalized attention they need to sew safely and confidently.

  • Our maximum group size is 16 kids. But often we prefer to keep the group slightly smaller. The group size depends on the planned projects and ages/level of experience of the kids attending.

  • Not at this time. Our summer program is geared toward a younger age group with a mix of sewing and play.

We offer school year programs for older tweens and teens.

  • Camp is held at 114 2nd place in Caroll Gardens. This is the bottom floor of a private home that was previously used as a preschool. Starting this summer the space is dedicated to host our camps and sewing programs for younger kids exclusively.

Our programs for older tweens, teens, and adults are held in Gowanus.

  • If space allows after camp can be added on as needed. But space in after camp is limited to 6 kids most days so if you really need it you should include it with your camp booking.
